Permanent makeup also known as micro-pigmentatiion can be used by both men and women, and is often applied to areas such as eyebrows, eyes, lips and the scalp. Permanent makeup is a safe cosmetic application where high grade pigment is implanted into the superficial layer of the skin- the dermal layer. The reasons for permanent makeup are abundant and therefore the interest is growing rapidly amongst men and women. Permanent cosmetics is a fast and effective way to improve the way you look. It isn't about changing your features, but rather enhancing your natural beauty features while saving time in your daily routine and making life easier. Go for a run, swim, to the gym, play tennis, golf, shower or sweat, your makeup won't smudge or run off. I use only the finest grade pigments and tools for each of my cosmetic procedures offered. The finished result is a natural look that lasts for years and helps you save time in your daily routine. Whether you want to add definition to facial features, or simplify your beauty routine, permanent makeup is an ideal solution for many.
Permanent makeup typicallly lasts 1-3 years, the average retention depends on many factors including skin type, lifestyle and pigments used.
No, PMU is not the same as traditional tattooing, this is largely due to the technique, tools and pigments used in PMU. For example traditional tattooists use ink and larger needles to penetrate deep into the dermis, this is done because the artist wants their work to last forever. In PMU the most superficial layer between the epidermis and dermis is where the pigment is gently implanted. Needle size and proper technique ensure this. The epidermis is where cellular turnover is achieved and this is why the pigment will start to fade in a couple of years and need touch ups on an annual or bi-annual basis.
The Healing from cosmetic tattoo varies from person to person. With proper topical anesthetics and technique, swelling and bleeding should be minimal to none. I provide each client with an aftercare package and written instructions. The treated area will begin to soften/ lighten up within 3 to 60 days, it is recommended to schedule your touchup appointment anytime between 6-8 weeks following your original treatment. After that annual or bi-annual touchups or per client preference and artist discretion.
The length of a session depends on the service you are receiving. A powder brow session can take 4-5 hours, scalp micropigmentation can take 2-5 hours, while a lip blushing session can take 3-5.
Permanent makeup is generally well tolerated by the majority of individuals however, pain is very subjective and everyone has a different threshold. A topical numbing cream is applied to the area being treated throughout the procedure to reduce any discomfort. PMU uses very small needles to achieve the desired look, in turn it is much less invasive and creates less trauma to the dermis when compared to traditional tattoo. It is always my priority to make my clients feel comfortable and pain free throughout the entire service.
Avoid caffeine including Tea, Coffee, Energy drinks, Soda, Alcoholic beverages, Multi-vitamins, Fish oil, Ibuprofen, Advil, Aspirin and any blood thinners. For the best results please have your fillers or botox injections done 3 weeks prior to your procedure. Avoid tanning beds/ UV exposure that leaves your skin compromised or sunburnt
Who doesn't love a youthful, full brow to enhance their natural beauty?
Powder brow achieves a soft, natural-looking brow with our powder brow service. In this service a tattoo machine uses a small needle to create a combination of shading and powdery techniques to softly layer pigment behind the brow hairs, creating either a gradient effect or a soft natural enhancement of your natural brow shape. Still you, just better!
Enhance your lips with our permanent lip blush service. A machine with a fine needle is used to dust pigment in layers, creating a natural-looking enhancement to your lips. Say goodbye to pale, even lip tissue, bleeding lipstick and smudges.
Get fuller, fluffy, clean, natural and more defined brows with machine Nano hair-strokes (not hand micro-blading). This technique is the newest and a proven safer alternative for the dermis when compared to micro-blading. Suitable for dry and combination skin, service available in May 2025.
Get a fuller, more defined hairline with our scalp micro-pigmentation enhancement service. In this service a fine needle is placed into the dermis well above the papillary layer, creating the illusion of thicker hair that has been shaved. Does not damage the actual hair follicle due to the shallow depth of needle insertion, avoiding the papillary layer that resides deep within the dermis.
Specifically for females wanting a more defined hairline with a fuller look at your part? This can be achieved with our scalp micro-pigmentation enhancement service.
